Day 9 - (05/11) Troy, AL to Carrabelle, FL

The weather continues to be great ... we hit 95 degrees again.  Carol's cough continues to be a concern.  We got some guidance from her doctor today.

We left Troy at 10:30am, drove 222 miles, lost an hour due to a time zone change and arrived in Carrabelle, FL at 5:30pm.  The route included lots of scenic roads:  US 231 south to Dothan, US 231 south to FL 73, then south on FL 71 to Port St. Joe, and US 98 east to Carrabelle.

The drive from Port St. Joe to Carrabelle follows the Gulf coast and the Intracoastal Waterway.
US 98 crosses the Intracoastal Waterway
We're parked at the Ho-Hum RV Park.  It's far from ho-hum!  We have a beach site and sit about 30ft from the Gulf of Mexico.

We had dinner at Old Salts Cafe in Carrabelle.  The place is located off the main road and is unassuming from the outside.  It was highly recommended by the park manager ... and she got it right.  Carol had shrimp salad (the shrimp were fresh from the Gulf).  Dick had Shrimp and Oyster gumbo.  We shared homemade key lime pie.  Carol hopes the "feed a cold remedy" works.
